User-Generated Content

  • Chat messages sent by the user (text and optional media)
  • Chat metadata (chat/avatar IDs, timestamps, read status)
  • Actions such as likes, blocks, reports, favorites, photo unlock activity

Subscription and Credits Data

  • Premium entitlement status
  • RevenueCat app user ID mapping
  • Credit balance/history and spend events
  • Purchase/restore status and related subscription metadata

Push Notification Data

  • Push permission state
  • Expo push token
  • Notification preference settings/history

Diagnostics and Usage Telemetry

  • App analytics events (screen views, feature usage, paywall events, etc.)
  • Session ID
  • Device/app metadata (platform, OS version, app version/build, device type/model)
  • Crash/performance diagnostics and replay telemetry (with text masking configured)

Sensitive and Adult Content

Velvet provides fictional adult content. Chat interactions may contain erotic or sexually explicit material. While we do not require you to submit sensitive personal data, you may voluntarily choose to discuss or generate adult themes through the Service. Such content is processed securely and never sold or shared for advertising purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Enable AI-powered interactions
  • Improve and personalize your experience
  • Manage your account and process transactions
  • Respond to support requests and security alerts
  • Analyze usage trends and train AI models in aggregate, anonymized form
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal conversations for targeted advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

Yes, data is transmitted to service providers used to run app functionality. We do not use ad network SDKs in this app, and we do not share data for third-party advertising.

Supabase (Backend Infrastructure)

Data shared: account/auth identifiers, profile/onboarding data, chat content/metadata, preferences, push token, credits/subscription state, analytics events

Purpose: authentication, database storage, realtime chat, edge functions, business logic

RevenueCat (Subscription Infrastructure)

Data shared: app user ID, purchase/entitlement/receipt-related subscription data

Purpose: in-app purchase validation, entitlement management, restore purchases

Sentry (Error Monitoring)

Data shared: crash/error logs, performance traces, technical context, app user ID context, replay telemetry per configured sampling

Purpose: debugging, stability, performance monitoring

Expo Push / Apple Push Ecosystem

Data shared: push token and notification delivery metadata

Purpose: send push notifications

Apple (Sign in with Apple / App Store Purchases)

Data shared: Apple auth token data during sign-in, purchase transaction data via Apple billing flows

Purpose: authentication and payment processing

AI Model Providers (OpenAI/Anthropic)

Data shared: user chat content sent for AI response generation (through backend services)

Purpose: generate avatar replies

5. Data Security

We use encryption, secure connections (HTTPS), and access controls to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we continually monitor and improve our security posture.

6. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for Service functionality, compliance, or analytics. Chat logs may be stored in anonymized form to improve AI performance and safety systems. You may request deletion of your account or chat history at any time.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access – Obtain a copy of your personal information.
  • Correction – Update inaccurate data.
  • Deletion – Request erasure of your personal data.

Velvet is not a mental-health or counseling service. If you experience distress, loneliness, or thoughts of self-harm, do not rely on the Service. Please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (US) or your local emergency hotline. We may review anonymized interactions to detect potential risk patterns solely to improve user safety.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our partners operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with GDPR and international privacy standards.
